Description
Balanced World is an illustration from my published Rainbow Turtle, Golden Dolphin.
The artwork was aimed to depict the earth at a time where all species once lived in balance. The cultures of humanity once celebrated their intimate connection with the earth as being central to their sense of aliveness and spiritual health. Nature is affirmed as being at the core of this connection for all species.
At the centre of the artwork a shaman figure is seen with arms out praying in front of a medicine drum, communing with all forms of life. A reminder of the possibility that each of us can be aware of how all life rests in balance.
In the background water is seen traversing across the various elements, nourishing everything it touches.
Small dots have been painted on a number of animals and people to convey a sense of the spirit that animates and gives colour to life.
