Description
Transformation
This painting, Transformation, was a culmination of a number of years of dedicated work.
Growing up in the Himalayas in a Tibetan School influenced me in a profound way, it has led me on a search for meaning, to look deeper than the material world and share the wisdom of my learnings.
Creating art has been of great help to me in ways that supports and shapes me. The text in the bottom centre is mantra. It is written in Tibetan. ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’ is how it is said in English which means: the jewel resides within the lotus.
It is an invocation to embody unconditional love both for ourselves and others. The two figures represent the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine which move outwards from the central archetypal angelic figure that is beyond gender. It represents the core self prior to polarity that structures the physical world.
These figures symbolise an embodiment of unconditional love and that it stems from an acceptance and embrace of human nature. Through embodiment we are enabled to compassionately love our humanity, inclusive of our faults and suffering.
My experience is that this painting has powerfully palpable, positive impact in wherever it hangs, particularly with the gold leaf that covers the central angel.
