Fellow friend of the sea and marine biologist Malia Rouillon works closely with local Gold Coast environmental organisations to help raise funds and protect the Great Barrier Reef. She asked me to paint on a Wooden Alaiya Surfboard donated by a local shaper. Mollie Cox former Sea Shepherd co-ordinator organised the event with Matt Smith as the fundraising auctioneer. Together with the collective efforts of numerous artists, musicians, massage therapists and environmental organisations we raised substantial funds to support a reduce the threat of the Great Barrier Reef being turned into world’s largest coal port at Abbott Point.
