Description
Baby Turtle
Turtles are significant in that they are incredibly fragile yet have been around since the times of dinosaurs. With 1 out 10,000 green turtles reaching maturity, these animals survive the odds.
This painting was inspired by a trip to Fraser island on the east coast of Australia. The water in the lake is said to take 10 years to filter through the sand before entering the lake. By that time the water is crystal clear and incredibly pure. When I dived into the water to my amazement I found this turtle, the size of my fingernail swimming in the water. The clarity of the water and the sheer expanse this tiny turtle was exposed to captivated me and inspired this painting.
