Description
Blood Moon Rising Honours the sacred feminine mysteries and her bleeding cycles. Many a societal stigma and shaming has conditioned both men and women to believe that a woman’s bleeding is unclean and best hidden. The fact remains that these cycles are possibilities for a woman to more deeply know herself and her connection to the rhythms of nature.
Due to the feminine’s deeply receptive state, she is capable of intuitive wisdom that can link her with a power greater than ego. This is symbolised by the raised arm.
The various circles around her body symbolise the blood of life and the connection to nature between body, breath and spirit.
The marks on her body are painted oka which were collected from a nearby creek and painted on the model in honour of the sacred aspects of the Feminine.
